Hard to believe, but the 2019 Reno Vegan Chef Challenge is already close to half over. This amazing month-long event challenges local chefs to create healthy and amazingly delicious vegan dishes. And La Famiglia is one of over twenty Reno restaurants showing people that vegan food can be just as tasty as non-vegan fare all April long. So how’s it going so far?
La Famiglia Goes Vegan
In addition to our regular menus, La Famiglia created a special vegan menu to qualify for the challenge:
- Roasted veggie focaccia
- Arugula salad made with basil oil, pine nuts, roasted garlic, tomatoes, and balsamic dressing
- Portobello mushroom filled with ratatouille vegetables and balsamic glaze
- Farmer’s market spring vegetable primavera with spaghetti squash
- Roasted eggplant lasagne
- Rigatoni with portobello mushrooms, pine nuts, basil and aglio e olio sauce
And for dessert? Limoncello sorbet with fresh lime and lemon zest!
