When we think about Italian food, dessert may not be the first thing to springs to mind. Savory entrees, delicate pastas, rich wines, crusty breads – these are where the mind tends to go, and it’s no surprise! But when you’re enjoying lunch or dinner at La Famiglia here in Reno, make sure to leave room for dessert. Between our scratch-made cheesecakes, classic tiramisu and flavorful gelatos, you may actually decide to skip straight to dessert.
We’ve made a name for our delectable cheesecakes, and with one bite, you’ll understand why. We make all of our cheesecakes in-house, with a few standing flavors and a whole selection of seasonal choices that we rotate in. Every day, we make lemoncello and chocolate caramel with sea salt cheesecakes. Seasonal cheesecakes include:

- Bananas Foster
Another daily selection is our chocolate mousse cake – rich and creamy, a true chocolate lover’s dream.
This classic Italian dessert translates as “pick me up” or “lift me up,” and once you learn the ingredients, it’s easy to see why. Ladyfingers are dipped in coffee and layered with whipped eggs, mascarpone cheese, sugar and cocoa, making for a dessert that’s richly delicate and incredibly satisfying. We make our tiramisu fresh in-house.
We bring in incredible local gelato from Bibo Freddo, and it’s truly divine. Gelato is a denser version of ice cream with a higher milk-to-cream ratio that makes for a richer, more flavorful experience.
